Where did the name BoyDog come from?

My last job was in a corporate setting. I was the Marketing Manager for a corporation which was comprised of 5 sister companies. All of the e-mail addresses consisted of Last Name, First Initial@companyname.com. My last name is Boyd. My first initial is G (Gret).

Day after day I received e-mails addressed to boydg@companyname.com. In my mind I kept seeing boydog - every time. When the time came to start my own business there wasn't any doubt in my mind what it would be called.
