Bio-Illustration

After working in the pharmaceutical/biological sciences field for a manufacturer of laboratory equipment I became familiar and fascinated with this sector of the life sciences. I was fortunate enough to be offered the opportunity to participate in the compilation of illustrations to be used for a publication. Some illustrations are revisions of pre-existing art. Some illustrations expand the scope of information being made available. The rest is new.

All illustrations were done working with recognized members of the cytogenetic community. All permissions have been granted. All trademarks and copyrights are acknowledged and respected.

  • Chromosome Y banding variantsThis is part of a series of illustrations representing the International System for Human Cytogenetic Nomencalture. When completed it was over 50 pages of illustrations. This shows how the process worked through this project.
  • DNA ReplicationA revised illustration.
  • FISH (Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization)Illustration explaining the process.
  • Hypothetical ReplicationA revised illustration.
